SULAWESI -

If you like exploring nature and wildlife, then Sulawesi will surely be your next destination! Formerly known by the name ‘Celebes’, Sulawesi is also famous for a type of bird named ‘Hornbills’. Hornbill birds look a lot like toucans, with their multicoloured beaks, but has a unique breeding behaviour in the avian world. Sulawesi contains of several different peninsulas and lots of mountains within the center area.

Sulawesi is the world’s 11th largest island, and covers a massive area of 202,000 square kilometres. It’s location is between Borneo and Maluku Islands. The island of Sulawesi takes the form of a spider/crab shape since the island has a weird land structure of ‘tentacles’ or ‘legs’. Over 2/3 of Western Sulawesi is capped with forests and trees, and there’s even a breathtaking volcano to top it off! Don’t be put off by the price though, this stunning holiday will be totally worth it! Even if you consider yourself as a lazy guy, a trip to Sulawesi will knock your feet off!

Sulawesi is a popular major tourist attraction, with 20 million tourists every year! I was one of them, and I have to say that Sulawesi was amazing! I could not believe my eyes when I just took a look at Mount Tongkoko, the volcano on the isle. I even spent some time volunteering in the local community, helping citizens to plant trees, which was a nice experience too! And then, on my last day, I got to even see Hornbill birds in North Sulawesi! But sadly, my plane was waiting for me and I left there at 6pm. I felt sad to leave the awesome island, but on the other hand, I was glad to be back home.

And now I definitely recommend my adventure to all nature lovers and other tourists that are in for thrills on the stunning island. So make sure to book a tour today to Sulawesi - the epic Indonesian Island.
