I could not believe what I’m seeing right now. I am in Greenland, located in Europe and covered in ice and frost. In Greenland, the most popular thing to do is to watch the Northern lights, so luckily the sky was clear and tranquil today. In just a few minutes, neon colours of blues and greens started to rise above the horizon. The bright colours filled the night sky and I was delighted by the sight of the stunning view. But unfortunately, the environment in Greenland is disastrous, the ice around the area will soon melt. Global warming will melt the Greenlandic ice at an alarming rate and more and more water will be flooding into the ice covered country. This disaster will also affect the local citizens, when their homeland is starting to collapse. As I was thinking about this, I also reminded myself to enjoy the beautiful natural light while I still can. The bright lights were vivid and vibrant, reflecting against every shiny surface.

I still remember all the interesting places I visited along my journey, but none of them are the best compared to Greenland. One of the activities were whale watching, and I was stunned by the gorgeous view. Yesterday after lunch, I went on a whale watching tour on a big cruise ship. The ship even came with free afternoon tea, which were some delicious chocolate chip cookies and a choice between warm milk or hot chocolate. Unfortunately, the hot chocolate supplies ran out since many people ordered, so I had a get the milk instead. There was also a massive cabin where the travel group hung out and had a small chat about the trip.

So in conclusion, I definitely recommend that you come to visit Greenland, the country covered in ice. It is the BEST place to see the amazing northern lights and to go on a whale watching tour. Make sure that you come in Winter, when the northern lights are the most vibrant, and never come in Summer if you don’t wish to miss out on the terrific light show. Greenland is the perfect destination to visit if you are into and whales, or kids who want to be future astronomers. So come and visit Greenland, it will be really worth it once you get there (and just warning you, bring lots of warm clothes, since the temperatures will drop below five degrees).
